Teen gang pleads guilty to filmed assault on young girl
A "mass assault" on a youngster by four teenage girls was watched by 20 people, filmed and put on the internet, a court heard.
A 13-year-old girl, two 14-year-olds and a 16-year-old pleaded guilty to using unlawful violence and actual bodily harm at Richmond Magistrates' Court, which was sitting as a youth court, on Tuesday, March 25. No-one involved can be named for legal reasons.
Mr Levy, prosecuting, said: "The four girls were responsible for a concerted assault, taking it in turn to assault her and, on occasions, jointly doing so.
"The girl went to the floor, she was kicked on the floor, there was hair pulling and the girl urinated herself."
The attack happened in Fifth Cross Road, Twickenham, on November 26.
One of the 14-year-olds also pleaded guilty to assaulting two police officers when she was being arrested for the original attack.
Mr Levy said that she headbutted one female officer and spat at another. In mitigation Ms Khatun said that the group attack was a serious incident and she would be asking magistrates to assess each girl individually. Magistrates will view the film prior to sentencing. The person who filmed the attack has not been arrested.
The girls were released on unconditional bail until being sentenced next month.
