Cup glory for Hampton

| Cup heroes: Hampton & Richmond Borough |
Hampton & Richmond Borough boss Alan Devonshire reckons he has not had a bad Easter in five seasons at the Beveree after lifting the Middlesex Senior Cup on Monday.
The Beavers followed up Saturday's 3-0 league win at Fisher Athletic with a 3-0 cup final triumph over Hendon two days later.
The results leave them with a trophy in the cabinet with seven games of the Blue Square South season remaining and the play-offs firmly in their sights.
Devonshire's men are now unbeaten in five league matches since a 2-0 home defeat to Fisher, and the Hampton chief rates last weekend among the best of his tenure.
"This weekend has to be up there as one of the best I have had here," he said.
"I have been at the club five seasons and we have always had something to play for at this time of the year.
"I don't think we have ever had a meaningless game.
"At this stage of the season, winning becomes a habit as much as losing. We have to make sure we don't lose to the teams around us.
"The win over Fisher was perhaps the best we have played all season and means the results we got against Bath and Havant have proved pretty important in the context of the season."
Another Elliott Godfrey wonder strike and a penalty from the same player helped the Beavers dispatch Fisher, with Stuart Lake adding a late third.
Two days later, it was Sean McAuley (two) and Graham Harper on target to add the silver lining to Hampton's Easter weekend.
The Beavers head to Bromley this weekend, with defender Rob Paris expected to be fit, having missed last weekend's action with an ankle complaint.
And Devonshire, who has no plans to bolster his stretched resources this side of the transfer deadline, believes only injury can halt the Beavers' march to a play-off spot.
"While I only have a 20-man squad, I don't think there is any need to strengthen at the moment because players are on their way back," he added.
"As long as we can stay clear of injuries, I think we stand a good chance of making the play-offs now.
"It will be difficult to rest players, but there are only seven games left and I am sure they will want to play every one."
