Kingston business owners have inspired a book to help entrepreneurs harness the power of networking.

Turks Launches, based on the Thames in Kingston, is among those featured in BNI – One Bite at a Time, by Teddington business mentor David Wimblett.

He said: “What I learnt is that too many people in business get too comfortable and need to realise being in business simply isn’t enough.

“I also noticed many businesspeople who led sheltered salaried life previously had to learn networking skills from scratch.

“98 per cent of businesses rely on word of mouth for referrals, yet only 3 per cent have a strategy for gaining new business through word of mouth referrals.

“The ultimate lesson in business networking is not to sell, but rather to build meaningful relationships, and this is where businesses among colleagues can be grown successfully.”

The book is available at 7training.co.uk for £10.
