Supplying artwork
The following is a guide to the specification required for submitting digital
files to the Richmond and Twickenham Times.
Applications Used (PC and Macintosh):
Quark Xpress 4.0
Photoshop 5.5
Acrobat 4.0

Standard HD floppy (PC and Mac
Zip (Macintosh only)
CD (PC and Mac)
Fonts
Due to copyright law the company can only use/output fonts that it holds licenses for.
The company will not, under any circumstances, load fonts onto its system supplied by a customer or agency.
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that fonts used are embedded in their advertisement.
ISDN
We can accept files over our ISDN line, as long as they are supplied in one of the formats
described below. Our ISDN numbers are (020) 8940 5441 and (020) 8332 0155.
E-Mail
Advertisements sent via the email should be in high-resolution JPEG format and should
not exceed 1 meg in size.
Graphics
Photoshop Files
The preferred formats are Photoshop TIF and EPS, JPEG PC or Macintosh format
4 colour images to be 300dpi @ 100 lines per inch.
We do not accept TIF files with LZW compression, EPS files that have been JPEGED or DCS files

Quark Files
We can accept Quark files in either PC or Macintish format with the appropriate images included.
W do not accept imported images with LZW compression or EPS files that have been JPEGED. TIF files 'coloured' in Quark cannot be accepted. Colour files must be coloured in original application saved as TIF or EPS (CMYK)
NB: any Quark EPS Files must have the fonts converted
Acrobat Files
The preferred format is PDF EPS
Print: 4 colour ICC profiles cmyk
Export: EPS with TIFF preview, Binary, Postscript level 1, fonts all embedded
We do not accept imported or placed images with LZW compression or EPS files that have been JPEGED.
Please note: If sending a straight PDF file, make sure the setting for colour conversion are set at colours unchanged and the option fields are all set in the distiller
ISDN (Integrated Systems Digital Network)
Artwork can be accepted via ISDN, providing it conforms to the above specifications for
applications and fonts. Please ensure that information regarding any artwork being sent
using this method, is passed to the relevant staff in Pre-press.
